Privacy Policy

Accounts are held by adults: a parent or legal guardian; an adult learning for themselves; a teacher or tutor working with a student whose parent or guardian has agreed; or an academy under a written agreement with us. We call each of these the account holder. Students do not create accounts, do not sign in, and are never given a chat or any other way to talk to an AI. Information about a student reaches us from the account holder who uploads their work.

A teacher, tutor or academy who uploads another person’s work is responsible for having that student’s parent or guardian agree (or the student’s own agreement, if they are an adult), and for following any rules of the student’s school about sharing school records. If you are a parent and believe someone uploaded your child’s work without your agreement, email us and we will delete it.

• Your account: your name and email address, through our sign-in provider (Clerk). Sign-up includes an automated bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile, through Clerk).
• The work you upload:PDFs, photos, scans and screen recordings, and anything you type about them. These can include a student’s name, handwriting, school, grades or voice, if those appear in what you send. From a recording we also keep a transcript and still frames, and they are deleted with the recording.
• About each learner: the name you give them, the grade or class you choose, and any score or grading notes you add when asking for a review of finished work.
• Learning activity:which video lessons are played, paused, finished and bookmarked, ratings, and problems reported on a guide, whether that happens in your account or on a share link you created (see section 4). We use this to show you a learner’s progress and to improve the lessons.
• Our interest form: if you leave your email address and phone number on guru.anveshi.ai/interest (for example from a QR code at an event), we keep them, with the event the code was for, only to tell you about Guru.Anveshi.ai. We never share or sell them, and we delete them when you ask.
• Payments: handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We receive confirmation of what was bought, never your card details.
• Visits to our public pages: that a page was viewed, that the sample guide was opened, and that sign-up was started. Each event is tied to a random cookie that lasts 30 days. With it we record the page, the referring site, any referral or campaign tag in the link you followed, and the approximate place the visit came from (country, region and city, as our hosting provider reports it). These records do not carry your name, but they are not anonymous: if you later sign in on the same browser, the earlier visits can be linked to your account. We use no third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
• When you sign up: the same approximate place, and how you first found us (a referral, a campaign tag, or the site that sent you).
• Our emails: we keep a copy of each email we send you. Links in our emails pass through guru.anveshi.ai so we can count clicks. We use no tracking pixels and do not record whether an email was opened.
• IP addresses: we do not keep your IP address in readable form. To stop abuse, a few forms count requests per address; the count is stored under a one-way scrambled code (a hash), not the address itself, and is deleted after a day. Our hosting and security providers keep their own short-lived technical logs, which can include IP addresses.
• Fellowship applications: if you apply to be a Guru Fellow, what you tell us, any document you upload, and who referred you, used only to decide on your application.

We use what you upload to make, check and deliver your guides and video lessons, to answer your questions about them, and to fix problems. We do not sell or rent personal information, we do not show advertising, and we do not build profiles of children for any purpose.

AI providers. To read your upload, write the guide and check it, we send the material to AI services run by Anthropic, Google (the paid Gemini API), OpenAI (including transcription of recordings) and Fireworks AI. Each request goes to more than one of them, because checking by separate AI systems is how every guide is made. Under the terms that apply to our accounts, none of these providers uses what we send to train its models. They may keep it for a limited time, generally no more than 30 days, to detect abuse, and then delete it. They act on our instructions and not for their own purposes.

Testing improvements. We sometimes run a delivered request through a test version of how guides are built (for example, a lower-cost one) to compare the result with the guide you received. That test uses the same providers and the same retention, and its result is never sent to you or anyone else.

Other service providers, each handling only what its job needs: Cloudflare (file storage), Neon (our database), Vercel and Fly.io (running the website and the guide builder), Clerk (sign-in), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), and Upstash (scheduling work).

People.Anveshi’s founders can see your material when running the service and answering your support requests. Review by a person is a paid add-on you can choose for a delivered guide. When you choose it, the reviewer is a Guru Fellow, a practicing teacher or experienced educator whom Anveshi has checked and approved individually. A Fellow sees the files you uploaded for that one guide, the guide, its subject, and the name you gave the learner, and therefore anything written on those pages. Fellows do not see your email address, your other guides or your payment details. No one else sees your material, except where the law requires us to disclose it.

Each guide has a share link so a student can open it without an account. The link asks for a passcode, which starts as the learner’s name and can be changed on the guide page. Anyone with both the link and the passcode can read the guide and watch its videos, and what they do there is recorded as described in section 2. You can turn a link off at any time on the guide page, and it stops working at once. Share pages are marked so search engines do not list them. We cannot recall copies that someone has already downloaded, printed or forwarded.

• The work you upload(and a recording’s transcript and frames): deleted 90 days after its guide is delivered. If a request never produces a guide, its files are deleted 90 days after the request. Files uploaded but never sent with a request are deleted after 7 days. After 90 days a guide can no longer be rebuilt from its source.
• Your guides and their videos: kept while your account is open, because they are yours to come back to. A guide can contain what was in the upload (a name, the questions, a score), so ask us to delete any guide, or all of them, at any time.
• Your account, learners and learning activity: kept while your account is open; deleted within 30 days after you ask us to close it.
• Visits to our public pages and email click counts: deleted after 13 months.
• Rate-limit counts: deleted after one day.
• Billing records (what was bought and when, never schoolwork): kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
• Backups:deleted information can remain in our database’s backups for a short period, no more than 30 days, before it is overwritten.

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you or a learner, give you a copy, correct it, or delete some or all of it, including closing your account. Email guru@anveshi.ai from your account’s email address so we know the request is yours; if you can no longer use that address, tell us and we will find another way to confirm it is you. We answer within 30 days and confirm when a deletion is done. If we cannot do what you ask, we say why, and you can ask us to reconsider. Using these rights never costs you anything or changes how we treat you.

Depending on where you live, the law may give you further rights, such as under California and other US state privacy laws, India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, Australia’s Privacy Act, or Canada’s privacy laws. We honor those rights when they apply. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can also complain to your local privacy regulator.

Our service runs in the United States: the database, file storage and guide builder are in the eastern United States. The AI providers may process requests in the United States or other countries, under the terms described in section 3. If you live outside the United States, your information is transferred there so that we can provide the service.

Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (AES-256, by our storage and database providers). Each family’s material is kept separate, so one account cannot reach another’s, and links to stored files are signed and expire. Only the founders can reach production systems. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will tell you without undue delay and notify regulators where the law requires.

The service is for adults and is not directed to children. Students never sign in, never chat with an AI, and are never asked for information. Information about a student comes from the adult account holder, and a student’s only contact with the service is reading a finished guide or watching its videos, on paper or through a share link an adult chose to create. We use a student’s information only to make and deliver their guides and show their progress to the account holder, never for advertising or profiling. A parent or guardian can ask us at any time to show or delete their child’s information.

If we make a material change, we will email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect and post the new version here with a new effective date. We will not start using information we already hold for a materially different purpose without asking you first.
