How big is one guide?
Up to 14 questions is one guide. A longer assignment still comes back as one document — we don’t split it, and we don’t stop you from sending it — it just uses more than one credit: 15–26 questions is two, 27–38 is three.
We count anything that needs its own answer, so a question with parts a and b counts as two. You will see the count and the cost before anything is used, and you can check it against the paper in front of you — that is the whole rule, and there is no second one.
It is a ceiling, not an estimate we can revise upwards. If your assignment turns out longer than we counted, we cover the difference; if it turns out shorter, the extra credit goes back. The reason for the limit is not our cost — it is that answers get thinner when forty questions are worked at once, and a guide that teaches badly is not worth selling cheaply.

Upload a syllabus, a chapter, or a unit outline for any subject, and Guru writes a Prep & Practice Guide: six short lessons on the ideas that matter most at that level — what each is in the course’s own method, one worked example with the reasoning before the answer, the mistake to watch for — then a 12-question practice test in the form the course uses, printed without answers. Prepare, then test. Your child works it; you upload the pages; the review that comes back says which ideas are solid and which are not — and ends with the next practice set for exactly the ones that were missed. We call the cycle the Guru Chakra, the wheel of learning, and each turn of it is a record of where your child is.
The first Prep & Practice Guide for each child is free. After that one is one credit, and a review of the finished pages is priced like any other guide.
Monthly plans
A plan gives you a set number of guides each month at a lower price per guide. Plan guides refill every month and unused ones expire — a plan is an allowance, not a savings account. Credits you buy one at a time or by the pack, above, never expire and are used after your plan guides. Change or cancel any time from your billing page.
A guide is one assignment of up to 14 questions; a longer one uses more than one, as described above. Extra guides beyond a plan’s monthly allowance are priced so that upgrading is always cheaper than topping up.
Want a person to check it?
Any delivered guide can be reviewed by a credentialed teacher or an experienced educator whose background we checked, for $29. They read it beside the original assignment and judge whether it teaches the material properly.
If they find a real mistake, the guide is refunded. That is our guarantee on the work of three AI systems: the review pays for a teacher’s time and stays paid whatever they find; the guide that was wrong is what comes back to you — corrected, re-issued, and with its credit returned. A review depends on a teacher picking it up, so we don’t promise a time; your guide is yours to use meanwhile.
How fast, and what subjects
Guides are usually ready in minutes. We don’t charge more to go faster.
We’re strongest in maths and science for roughly ages 11 to 18 — middle and high school, secondary school, classes 6 to 12 — which is where the diagrams and worked reasoning earn their keep and where we test hardest. The method doesn’t depend on the subject or the curriculum: we work from the assignment itself, so American, CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE or IB makes no difference. Send what your child is actually stuck on.
Beyond grade 12?
Guru is for school families today. The Guru Way behind it — learning as a process — is not limited to school. If you would use it for college, a professional course or your own research, leave your email and we will tell you when there is a version for you. Nothing else; no account.
Your record, as guides accumulate
Every family gets a progress view for each child — what has been covered across units and semesters, how many questions have been worked, and, for every guide, what was checked before it reached you: how many independent checks actually ran, how many disagreements were settled before delivery, and where a checker was unavailable and we carried on with one.
And across school years. Start in grade 6 or 7 and the record becomes a trajectory: what was covered each year, which ideas from an earlier year are still behind this year’s misses, and whether a gap is closing. Guru keeps that record; nothing else in your child’s life does.
None of it is an AI summary of your child. It is counted from what we recorded at the time.
What every guide includes
- Your child never talks to an AI. No chat, no student login, no student account — you receive a finished document and decide what they see.
- Three AI systems, from three companies, on every guide. One works it out and two others check it independently; where they disagree we settle it rather than passing you a warning. If one of the checkers is unavailable we carry on with the other and say so in the guide.
- No student account, no profile, no tracking. We hold your child’s first name, the schoolwork you upload, and the guides we make from it — and uploads are deleted after 90 days. Full detail on the privacy page.
